Pop Up Poems

By - 26 May 2020 - 14:03pm

Spread the joy of poetry across Derby and beyond with our PopUp Poems!

Whilst it is not so easy to meet right now, our Shared Reading volunteers are finding new ways to stay in touch with their group members, many of whom are in care homes and across the community. Our Shared Reading programme aims to bring people together to read poems and stories and share conversations, usually meeting weekly.

We want to spread the joy of poetry across Derby and beyond with our PopUp Poems. Some of you may have heard about the poetry being displayed on the bridge in Duffield. We love the idea and our volunteers are putting up poems in their windows, local shops and on noticeboards around the city.

How to take part:

1. Click the links below to download the template (if you don't have access to a printer, why not create your own?)

2. Write or type your favourite poem on to the template (scroll down for details of how to add text to a PDF)

3. Put your PopUp Poem somewhere where people will see it, such as in a window or on your front door

4. Don't forget to take a picture and share your poem using the hashtags #PopUpPoem and #SharedReading

If you see any PopUp Poems when you're out and about, please do take a quick photo and share it on social media using the hashtags: #PopUpPoem and #SharedReading.

Let's spread the word and hopefully make someone’s day!
