Since 2015 we have organised an annual Derby Book Festival. In 2019 we added our Autumn Edition over three days.

From the start, we have been supported by Arts Council England and the University of Derby. Local businesses and individuals also generously sponsor the Festival each year. 

In 2018 we set up our Festival Friends, offering people the chance to be more involved with the Festival and giving them a range of exclusive benefits, such as priority bookings for events, special events and ticket offers.

The Festival’s funding is broadly made up of one third from Arts Council England, one third from sponsorship and one third from ticket sales. 

Our community programmes: Shared Reading and Shared Writing have secured funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and through Derby College external funding respectively.
