Join Simon Heywood, Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Derby to look at ways of writing local folklore - something Derby is rich in.

Derby has a dense cluster of local legends and stories, some very well-known, some rarely mentioned and all but forgotten - tales of strange chances in familiar surroundings, guaranteed to spark the imagination. 

This session is a short, practical glimpse of a few of the lesser-known stories, with some practical activities for finding creative inspiration for writers and artists at all levels of experience and knowledge - or for anyone who’s just curious. A glimpse of the weird and wonderful world of legendary Derby - half fact, half fiction, and all (or nearly all) within the city limits.
