A story-inspired music and movement workshop led by ‘Dance with Rosy’

Suitable for 2-5 year olds - all children must be accompanied by an adult

Join Gerald the Giraffe as he negotiates the Jungle Dance! In this workshop the children, alongside their grown-ups, are invited to listen to the fantastic tale of Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae and to move their bodies in ways inspired by the story. Using music and creative movement, dance teacher Rosy will support the children to use their imagination as they explore props and instruments in an exciting and vibrant way.

Families are invited for giraffe-related art and craft for half an hour before or after their session.

Derby Book Festival is a registered charity, dedicated to 'Bringing Books to Life' for the children of Derby. This session is offered for free to allow as many families as possible to access the activity. The suggested donation amount allows us to continue to expand our work across the city and bring the joy of books to more children. If you can afford to, please support us by buying a ticket with a donation.

Please note that, due to the format of our booking system, you are required to enter your card details into our secure payment page even when booking free tickets. Please be assured that your card will not be charged.
