Meet eight kids from the bad side of London, eight kids who never stood a chance until a new teacher arrives. Mr Warren, Chris Warren. Chris Warren has seen the bad side of life, he’s ex-special services, a man dedicated to giving his pupils, his kids, the best possible chance in life.

Eight Kids from London: An Olympic Love Story charts the progress of these ten year-olds from 2000, in their final year of Primary school when they meet their new teacher Mr Warren, through the twelve years to the 2012 London Olympic Games. Chris Warren makes these kids believe in themselves, makes them believe that anything is possible if you have faith in your ability and have the stamina to keep persevering when many people would have given up.

Steve Trew taught for 19 years in North London. He swam and ran at national and International level and won three AAA’s Championship medals. In Triathlon Steve represented Great Britain and England in Triathlon from 1984 to 1992; he was European champion in 1986 and was 10th in the World Championships in 1989 in his age group division.

Steve has had vast experience in International Sport and was Great Britain Coach at 2000 Sydney Olympics and Wales Team Manager at 2006 Commonwealth Games, Melbourne. Steve has been at six Olympic and Commonwealth Games as coach, team manager, and/or commentator for triathlon, race walking, swimming and open water swimming. Steve was involved in the 2012 London Olympic Games in the sports of triathlon, marathon swimming, and race walking. He was track and field stadium commentator for the London 2012 Paralympics. Steve has also provided live commentary at the London Marathon, the Great Swim series, and the Big City 10k and 5k runs as well as the London 10,000m and the London Westminster miles. He was previously Director of Coaching and National Coach for Great Britain Triathlon.
