Julie Summers: British Vogue: The Biography of an Icon

Saturday 16 November | 5pm - 6pm

£10 Venue: QUAD, DE1 3AS

Saturday 16 November, 5 - 6pm, QUAD Derby

For the first time, the full, glamorous and tempestuous history of British Vogue will be told, from its very beginnings in 1916 right up to the present day, in a glittering official history by Julie Summers. It is the story of a magazine and the individuals who created it, told against the backdrop of an extraordinary century of change, upheaval and beauty.

More than just a fashion magazine, more than a brand, Vogue is an institution, a major business and a character in its own right. It is also part of an intensely private empire that for almost all of its existence has remained a self-sufficient, sealed microcosm.

Beautifully illustrated with images from the Vogue archive featuring covers, photoshoots and behind-the-scenes pictures, British Vogue also includes exclusive interviews with Vogue insiders such as stylist Grace Coddington, Editor Alexandra Shulman and Fashion Editor Lucinda Chambers.

This event will be filmed and made available as a digital recording after the Festival. For more information please click here.

Please note that we anticipate that parking will be unavailable at the Assembly Rooms car park as demolition work will have started by November. Alternative parking is available on streets around the Cathedral area and in other public car parks including Chapel Street and Bold Lane.
