Find out how Michael and his team capture their cutting edge research at the University of Derby and translate it into a story aimed at changing the hearts and minds of our next generation. 

They take the children on a roller coaster ride highlighting how stunningly beautiful coral reef ecosystems are, and how important they are for millions of people around the world. They show them what we are doing to these fragile ecosystems ... the death, the destruction, going, going, gone. 

Yet, there is hope, and we end by showing what you can do, to not only save our reefs, but save our planet. 

Written by Dominic, Rebecca and Michael - and illustrated by the hugely talented Peter Seymour - the book is not only educational, but also captivating, drawing children, and adults alike into making a change.

CivicLAB is based at the University of Derby. The city is a UNESCO City of Life Long Learning and home to World Heritage Sites. CivicLAB has been designed to support academics, creative & cultural industry professionals, freelance creatives and the public to share their insights on research and practice through a place-based approach to knowledge generation.
