On our tenth anniversary we’re delighted to welcome back James Naughtie, who joined us for our very first Festival in 2015 when he recorded an edition of BBC Radio 4’s Bookclub, which he has presented since it began in 1998. He has returned twice since, including his last visit in 2021.

James is now Special Correspondent for BBC News and one of the country’s best-known broadcasters, having presented Today on Radio 4 for 21 years. He has reported for the BBC from around the world for more than four decades and covered every US election from Nixon in 1974 to Trump in 2024 and witnessed many of the important events that have shaped the country as it is today.

He will talk to Navtej about his long career, his experiences and understanding of the US and his love of books and the many authors he has met on Bookclub.
